What actually is an ‘Exercise Library’?
So, exercising and learning everything you need to know on your own without the help of an expert to guide you is a time consuming process. Weeks to months of googling, browsing blog posts and youtube videos to try to find information. Unfortunately, a vast majority of exercise information available online for free can be very contradictory and confusing, often provided to you by people who claim to be ‘experts’ in this or that, but are really much more knowledgeable about marketing and branding than they are about the human body. This process can generate a lot of confusion and frustration, always feeling like you’re doing something wrong. Many of these people count on that feeling to get you coming back to seek advice from them, out of fear.
In the world of free fitness information that depends upon content algorithms to be seen and upon advertisement revenue to be profitable (I’m lookin’ at you, YouTube!), accurate and useful information is necessarily muddied by sensationalism and editorialised clickbait to get more views, ultimately creating misleading and unhelpful myths, misconceptions and misinformation that stop you from getting where you want to go.
Gems of free info absolutely exist from some great teachers and creators out there, but they are few and far between, and much harder to find. This can make the process of learning about exercise on your own frustrating, as you go through the process of learning, correcting and re-correcting over and over, and over.
On the other hand, if you wanted to have an expert coach or personal trainer guide you through the reeds, that would circumvent the problem entirely! But this can be quite costly, and it might not be a financially prudent decision for you.
So maybe you don’t want to trudge through miles of “free” misinformation and clickbait, but you also can’t afford the 1-on-1 time with a Coach or Personal Trainer. That’s where an Exercise Library comes in! The purpose of an exercise library is to provide a consistent singular source of information on the topic of exercise, and at a reasonable cost.
Being able to find information on any concept, exercise or stretch on a single website with visual examples, form cues, and potential applications massively simplifies the self-learning process. It also provides an easy hub for continued reference that you can come back to and refine your knowledge and technique over time.
Most importantly, it provides the consistency and expertise of a professional without the high cost of their personal time. For individuals without the ability to afford personal coaching, online or otherwise, a dedicated and comprehensive exercise library is the next best method of getting quality guidance in your exercise journey.

What is in your Premium Exercise Library now?
This section does not refer to my Free Exercise Library that contains all the basic bodyweight fitness exercises and also the BWF Primer beginner workout routine. If you want to see the free library to get a sense for how I write and deliver information, check it out here.
The exercise library is an on-going developmental project for me. As of writing (04/06/2021) there are over 150 exercises in the library split between two sections, the Mobility and Prehab Library and the Strength Exercise Library.
Mobility and Prehab Library:
As a person with Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos syndrome, I have probably had about every minor to not-so-minor joint injury you can think of, and have collected a pretty massive number of Mobility, rehabilitation and pre-habilitation (the “pre” standing for “preventative” or “preparatory”) exercises to help me to heal those injuries and/or to prevent them from re-ocurring.
Originally this had just been an online resource for my 1-on-1 Online Coaching clients to have access to, as a majority of the exercises in the library did not have a suitable example video or explanation elsewhere online that I could send to clients. As it expanded I found that others dealing with joint issues I had experienced in the past coudl benefit from accessing these resources so I opened it up to non-clients for a small fee.
The Mobility/Prehab library as is shown below, is divided into exercises by the affected joint area. As of right now there are over 100 exercises split across all categories, that will be helpful and relevant for many common joint problems.
Strength Exercise Library:
Eventually the Strength Library began to be populated, also originally for client use and eventually opened up to paying members.
At the moment the library is populated with a full batch each of Resistance Band and Dumbbell Exercises, the below image is a demonstration of what the strength library looks like and what its navigational filters look like.
As time goes on, I will be seeking to add Barbell, Gymnastics Rings and exercises using other equipment as well as information on Diet and Nutrition and much more.
The Membership Fee, and how it evolves (or doesn’t)
At the moment the price of this membership to access both libraries is:
only £5 per month (GBP)
As the library continues to grow, this fee is likely to increase over time for new members. HOWEVER, for any individual who has signed up, the price of the membership will never increase for you, unless you cancel your membership and then sign back up again. Whatever you pay when you sign up, is what you will keep paying, even when the price increases.
This means if you sign up when it’s £5 per month, even if the price gets raised to £10 or £15 per month long into the future, you will still only pay £5 per month.
This is out of a recognition that the library is a constantly developing product. I want to show my appreciation for those who have supported me in the earlier stages of development when it was not as comprehensive a product as it may be now. So if you are considering signing up but are unsure about it, just know that the longer you wait, eventually the price will increase as the library fills up more and more!
Membership Bonus: the “nick-e.com Member Lounge” Official Discord Server
One last thing to mention is that as a member of the site, you will have access to a Discord server exclusively for members!
For those that are unfamiliar with discord, it is essentially a large chatroom with multiple “channels” of different topics. Almost like a forum mixed with a real time chat-room! In there you can socialise, learn from other members and be part of a community! I also spend time there as much as I can to answer people’s questions when possible, so you might even be able to pop in and say hi to me! The screenshot above provides some info about the various purposes of the Discord server, and is also the welcome message you’ll receive when you join!
When you sign-up you should get an invite to the server with your welcome e-mail.
With all that being said, hopefully I’ve provided you enough information to be able to say whether or not you want to be a member! As if you haven’t seen it enough times already, here’s the final register form so you don’t have to scroll up.
